Producing a Financial Statement

The Financial Statements report writer can be used to provide most of your monthly, management reports. You can use it to design and produce any number of reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and so on.

A Financial Statements is defined in two parts using Financial Statement Layouts (FSL) and Financial Statement Rows (FSR). The report is produced using Financial Statements (FSS).

If you have entered a column code on the statement layout that requires budget information, SunSystems looks for the relevant budget file. If it cannot find it, the budget amounts are shown as zero on the report.

You can consolidate figures on a Financial Statements from one or more business units. The business units to be consolidated are identified in Financial Statement Rows (FSR).

If your report uses the optional ledger balances data, you are offered the option to update the balances when you print the report or save it to disk.

Note:  Financial Statements reports do not use the standard report parameter input forms, although a document format code is required and is defined in the Financial Statement Layout.
