Assigning Daybook Sequence Numbers

Daybook sequence numbers can be assigned to transactions that are included on the Daybook Listing when it is produced with the Definitive Request option set.

The following steps are required to define and apply daybook sequence numbers:

  1. Create an analysis dimension to maintain the daybook sequence numbers when they are generated. Ensure the Validation Method of the dimension is set to No Validation. Analysis dimensions are created using Analysis Dimensions (AND).
  2. Assign this analysis dimension to one of ten analysis dimensions used to analyze the Ledger entity (901) in Analysis Structure (ANS).
  3. Identify this analysis dimension in the Daybook Dimension field on Ledger Setup (LES). The daybook sequence number assigned to each transaction is stored in this analysis dimension on the transaction.
