Creating an event profile

When creating an event profile, the first condition must specify a function code because it must identify the SunSystems function to which the business rules apply. An event profile can only be linked to one function.

Note: To specify a business rule that publishes a SunSystems EDM BOD, you must select a function code that corresponds with available SunSystems EDM BODs.
  1. Specify this information:
    Call Point

The processing stages available for each function are predefined and are referred to as call points. An event profile can contain conditions that identify the particular processing stage(s) within the function, that should trigger the business rules. To specify the publication of a SunSystems EDM BOD, use the call point Posting Data:

IF Call Point = Posting Data
    Action Codes
An action code can be used in conjunction with a call point to further specify the point at which the business rules should be applied. The action codes relate to the Action buttons and other commands available to the user within a function.
The action codes available for selection with the Posting Data call point, are: Amend, Delete and Insert Record.
For example, you could create an event profile for the SunSystems function Address that triggers a business rule whenever a record is amended, deleted or inserted.
  2. Save your changes.
