Configuring a publisher business unit

A publisher business unit is configured independently of other business units; there may be many subscriber business units set up to receive the broadcast, or there may be none. You may specify multiple publisher business units.

Note: Selecting Delete results in no further data being published from that publisher business unit. Existing data already published and consumed by subscriber business units is not affected.

Use Enterprise Data Publication Configuration (ECP) to configure the publisher business unit:

  1. Set up the Connection Details. From Enterprise Data Publication Configuration (ECP), click browse and select a business unit group. Click OK.

    If multiple business unit groups have been defined in  your SunSystems installation, you must select the business unit group that your publisher business unit belongs to.

  2. Set up Enterprise Data Configure Publication. Click to browse EDM Publishing Business Unit and select a business unit code. Only business units within the installation are listed. Click OK.
    Note: The selected business unit must be valid.
  3. The selected business unit appears as the EDM Publishing Business Unit. Click OK.
  4. If a configuration already exists for the selected business unit, click Amend. If the business unit has not been configured, click Yes when a message appears asking if you would like to create a new configuration.
  5. From the list, select the SunSystems object to be published. This creates a new configuration.
    Note: In SunSystems Web client, you use the second column, Selected, to select objects to be published. If you prefer, you can use the first column to select multiple items while holding down Ctrl. However, you must ensure that any items selected in the first column are also selected in the second column.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click OK to save the new configuration.
  8. Click Exit.
