Understanding the Rule Common Fields

The Rule Common Fields data dictionary grouping contains all of the data items that can be referenced on Event Profile and Rule Set statements.

The following data items are included in this group:

Data Item Used to Reference
Function Code The system function for which the business rules apply.
Sub-Function Code Reserved for future use.
Call Point A valid call point, within the system function, at which the business rules apply.
Action Code A valid action code, within the call point and system function, at which the business rules apply.
Business Unit Code The business unit in use. If entered, this must be entered in capitals, is case sensitive and is not validated.
Operator Id The operator using the system function.
Today's Date The current date in the form: ddmmyyyy.
Current Period The current accounting period in the form: pp/yyyy.
Actuals/Budget The Actual or Budget code in use A to K. If must be entered in capitals, is case sensitive and is not validated.
Line Number The current journal line or order line number.
Operator Group The operator group to which for the current operator belongs.
Target Business Unit No longer used.
Reconciliation Profile This is required to link business rules to a particular reconciliation profile if the rules are to be used by Reconciliation Manager (RCM). See Using Business Rules with Reconciliation Manager.
Time The current time in the form: hhmmss.
Link Current Sales Period The current accounting period set in the Sales Business Setup.
Link Current Inventory Period The current accounting period set in the Inventory Business Setup.
Link Current Purchasing Period The current accounting period set in the Purchase Business Setup.
