Deploying a global package group

All global packages are part of a global package group. It is common for a group to consist of just one global package. In this case, we recommend to deploy that package using the steps described in the "Deploying a global package" topic. However, for groups consisting of multiple packages, the deployment of those packages is made easier by deploying at the group level. This takes care of deploying all of the packages and their dependent packages without needing to initiate the deployment of each package one-by-one.

Users with the Config Admin role can deploy a package group. The latest version of each package associated with the group will be deployed.

  1. Sign in to CSSP.
  2. Select Configuration Management > Entitled Global Packages.
  3. Click the row of the package group you want to deploy. The Entitled Package Group Details form appears.
  4. Click Deploy Package Group.
  5. Specify a description for the deployment.
  6. From the Tenant list, select the tenant to which to deploy the package.
  7. Click Submit. The deployment begins and you are redirected to the Deployed Package Groups page. You can monitor the overall status of the group deployment from there. To monitor the deployment status of the individual packages in the group, go to Configuration Management > Deployed Global Packages.
