Verifying a global package deployment
- Sign in to CSSP.
- Select .
- Click the deployed package in the table to open the Deployed Global Package Details page. The Overview tab opens where you can view the overall progress and deployment details.
- There are four stages to global package deployment, which can be accessed by clicking the respective tab on the top ribbon. The first two stages (Export and Compare) only apply if you chose to generate a Compare Report as part of the deployment.
- Export Target Tenant. If the Generate Compare Report option is selected when deploying, the first stage involves exporting the current resources of the target tenant. This is done so they can be compared to the global package that is being deployed. The tab for this stage is not available if the Generate Compare Report check box was not selected, as the deployment continues to Stage 3 automatically.
This tab shows the status for the export of each application in the target tenant. After a successful export, the deployment automatically proceeds to Stage 2.
- Compare. This tab shows the compare status for each application.
If the Generate Compare Report check box option is selected when deploying, the Review Compare Report option is available after the report is successfully created. The Compare report is available for review for 24 months. If the Generate Compare Report check box is not selected, the tab for this stage is not available and no action is necessary. The deployment continues to Stage 3 automatically.
You can use Compare reports to review the changes that a source package will make to your target tenant before you deploy the package. Compare reports help eliminate the risk of deploying unwanted changes to your target tenant.
The Compare report provides a header with high-level information about the deployment. There are data panels with details for each resource in a package. There is also a selection panel to help navigate through the resource data panels.
You can use resource data panels to make resource-level comparisons between your source and target tenants. Each resource has a data panel with rows for the fields associated with that resource and the value of the fields in the source and target tenants. Double-click a row to open a more detailed comparison of the source and target field. Then click
to highlight the differences between the two.Use the selection panel to navigate to specific resource data panels. The selection panel shows the resource categories hierarchically. Select a category to show the resource data panels for that category. To filter resources by application, use the Application list. If the Show only differences box is selected, only resources with differences in the source and target tenants are displayed. Use the Search bar to search for a specific resource or category.
The selection panel provides counters that indicate the number of differences in the source and target tenants. The green counter represents the number of new resources being added to the target tenant from the source. The red counter shows how many pre-existing resources are different between the source and target tenants. The counters show the number of resources being changed, not the number of fields in each resource.
You can use the selection panel to download an .xlsx file of the Compare report for individual applications. Thus, you can share data from the Compare report outside of CSSP. To download the Compare report for an individual application, complete these steps:
- In the selection panel, select the application from the Application list.
- Click the icon.
After you review the report, click

In this case, you must go to the Validate stage and click the Validate Messages column. Review the messages and take action as required, based on the message content. If you decide to proceed with the deployment, click from the Messages page. Then click the button on the Validate page. This advances the deployment to the Deploy stage. button in the

If you can resolve the issue, go to the Overview tab of the package deployment and click . If you cannot resolve the error yourself, submit a case through Infor Concierge.
. During this stage, the package is validated to ensure the resources can be successfully deployed to the target tenant. Ideally, this stage completes automatically and successfully, and the deployment continues to the Deploy stage. However, manual intervention may be required.
- Deploy. During this stage, the package resources are deployed to the target tenant. Ideally, this completes automatically and successfully. You can then log in to the target tenant to verify the resources were successfully deployed. However, manual intervention may be required in the case of an Error.
If an error occurs, click the Deploy Messages column. Review the messages and troubleshoot the issue using those messages and Infor Configuration Management Reference Guide for Global Packages for your application.
