Global packages

This section describes a feature that is only available to a limited number of early adopter customers who have been notified about Global Package functionality. Other companies should skip this section.

Global Packages must be enabled using the Features menu in CSSP for any environments where your company wants to deploy a global package. Specifically, a user with the Admin role must enable the Global Packages feature for Infor OS Portal. See Administrator > Self-Service Portal > Features in this library for details.

Global packages are packages created by Infor or designated partner companies. They are made available for other companies to deploy. Generally, they include resources which may be useful to many companies for purposes such as initial tenant setup, content delivery, and so on. For example, global packages containing workspaces for Infor OS Portal were made available to all CloudSuite Industrial and CloudSuite Distribution customers as a part of the 2024.10 release.

Unlike local packages, global packages cannot be created by most companies. Instead, companies can become entitled to global packages. When a company becomes entitled to a global package, they can deploy the global package to its tenants.
