Movement Types (MTS) - Inventory Allocation
-
Specify this information:
- Allocation By Stage
- Movements stage at which automatic allocation will occur upon release of the stage. Receipt note stages are only valid for transfers.
- Manual Allocation
-
Indicates if manual allocation applies. Options are:
- No - allocation is carried out automatically. That is, manual allocation is not permitted.
- Yes - allocation is carried out manually. The movement order cannot be released from this stage unless allocation has been carried out.
- Not Defined
- Reservation Type
-
This refers to the reservation of stock. This only applies to issues and the issue side of transfers. Options are:
- Manual - reservation of stock must be done manually if it is required.
- Automatic - this prevents items being issued to other sales or movement orders, ensuring there is always enough inventory to fulfil this issue.
- Not Used
- Free Inventory Includes Allocated
- Free inventory is calculated according to the settings in the inventory business setup. However, when processing movement issues or transfers, users may need to include allocated stock when they normally exclude it. For example, on sales orders in order to allow corrections and adjustments to be posted. This field indicates if the free inventory total includes the allocated quantity. Options are: No, Yes and Not Defined. If this is set to Not Defined, the settings default to those specified in the inventory business setup.
