Creating a metric

  1. On the SPE home page, select Administration > KPIs and Metrics > Metrics.
  2. Click + to create a new metric.
  3. Specify a name for the metric.
  4. Specify a code for the metric. The Metric code is required to connect the metric to a datapoint.
  5. Specify this information:
    Target Owner
    Specify the name of the target owner who is responsible for the metric and monitoring the reported values from different parts of the organization.
    Note: If you cannot find a user in the Target Owner field, contact the administrator to ensure that the user has the SPE-ProgramManager role in IFS.
    Category
    Specify the category associated with the metric which refers to the assigned metric category.
    Unit of measure
    Specify the unit of measure to associate with the metric. The selected unit of measure is the default UoM when setting targets and displaying reported values.
    Note: You can search by name or by the symbol or abbreviation of a unit of measure. The symbol or abbreviation is also added as a prefix to the record name for convenience.
    Preferred values
    Select a preferred value of the metrics which are used to monitor if the metric values are high, low, or neutral.
  6. Click Save.
