Attaching documents from the Smart Help widget

Caution:
There is a known issue with the My Content and My Links channels for users that have the Infor System Administrator role in tenants with more than 2000 roles defined in IFS Security. Only full tenant administrators should be assigned the Infor System Administrator role. A workaround is to remove the Infor System Administrator role from the user profile, logging out and then back in again. The issue is tentatively scheduled to be fixed as part of the 2025.05 release.
Users with IDM privileges can attach and view the content. See your system administrator for information about the IDM IFS security roles.

In Infor OS Portal, you can upload content directly to the Smart Help widget. When you upload content from the Smart Help widget, the content is added to your current screen using the screen ID.

You can also upload content to Smart Help from Information Document Management (IDM). See Adding content from Infor Document Management (IDM).

The maximum file size is 50MB per file when you upload files in the widget. When you upload from IDM, the file can be larger.

  1. Before you start, verify that you have the correct security access to IDM and Infor OS Portal.
  2. Sign in to Infor OS Portal™.
  3. Navigate to the application and to the screen to attach the document.
  4. On the Smart Help widget, select the My Content channel.
  5. Click the Attach Documents icon.
    Attach Documents in My Documents
  6. Drag and drop content to the Attach Documents window.

Alternatively, click upload files, select the files from your local drive, and click Open.

You can upload up to five files simultaneously. The maximum size of an upload is 50MB.

    Drag_And_Drop
Note: You can click +Additional Details to view the screenID.
  7. Optionally, select an Access Control List to limit who can see the content:
    • Private: Only you can view the content
    • Public: Anyone in the tenant can view the content
    • Custom: A system administrator can set a custom ACL from your tenant
Note: A system administrator can add custom ACL rules to the SMARTHELP Document Type. See ACL rules in the Infor OS User and Administration Guide for more information on ACL rules.
  8. After the content is loaded, click Upload.

The uploaded content is displayed in the My Content channel.

To manage the content and navigate directly to IDM, click the Document Management icon in the My Content channel.
