Searching in Infor Sales Hub
Infor Sales Hub uses entries in 'Key Search. Open' (CMS030) to support the search functionality, as described in other parts of this document. Take a note of these good practices to consider when setting up the search functionality, and searching in Infor Sales Hub:
- Be specific. Target the fields to search that contain the information you need, do not make generic table-wide searches.
- Apply search-based filters to cut down the number of returned rows. Such fields can be Item Status, Sales Item flag, and Configuration codes.
- Apply facet-based filters prior to doing the search. This will reduce the number of returned records.
- Trailing wildcard searches are allowed and can be added to the setup in ‘Key Search. Open’ (CMS030) as a default.
- Leading wildcard searches are not supported and will be left out.
- Structure your data so that important information is accurately maintained, rather than in free-text than can be erroneously entered.
- Set standards for free text, such as dimensions with no spaces (for example “180mm”, not “180 mm”).
- Search using strings that contain two or more characters. This should give a good blend between performance and the number of records retrieved.
- The following special characters are supported when searching in Infor Sales Hub: " ! + - ( ) & /.
