Local search

Local search consists of these search modes: Keyboard Entry, Item Search, and Quick Entry. The search is performed on the MITBAL item or warehouse table in M3 Business Engine. One or two search bars are available to search for items.

To perform the search, specify a search string and press Enter, or click the Search icon. The search uses Infor Function Search for M3 and the key search that is defined in Key Search. Open (CMS030).

You can specify the key search in Infor Sales Hub Properties > Search > Item Search - Key > Key search > Field heading.

The default warehouse is controlled by the order type field control for Warehouse. To change the warehouse manually, click the Look up icon. The newly selected warehouse is then the base for sourcing when the order line is created. If the order is a resumed order, then the last selected warehouse for that order is used in the new field, not the default warehouse.

Note: You can only change warehouse like this if the Several warehouses permitted parameter in 'CO Type. Open' (OIS010/H) in M3 BE is enabled.
These default search keys in (CMS030) are delivered in the Sales Hub Content Package:
  • item search: SH_ITEM_KEY/MITMAS
  • alias search: SH_ITEM_KEY/MITPOP

You can also add and configure and your own search keys. For example, to search items by language, you can add a record with a search key SH_ITEM_KEY/MITLAD in (CMS030). Use <QRY>* to search the entire MITLAD table.

Use the filter and facets category to further filter the search result. The facets can be used independently to find items.

Note: The item search result list is based on records in table MITBAL for the warehouse that the user is currently set up for. The available facets are based on items in table MITMAS. There might be facet options that yield no results in the search list if there is a discrepancy between items set up in MITMAS and MITBAL.

The hyperlink in Name/Item Number column opens the Item Details panel for the selected item.

The quantity is indicated by a color to highlight availability. The color is red if the quantity is negative or zero, yellow if the quantity is between one and four, green if the quantity is five or more, and black if the item is classified as Not stocked. Items are classified as Not stocked if the Inventory Planned field in 'Item. Connect Warehouse' (MMS002/E) is set to 10='Not stocked'.

Click the ADD ITEM button to add items to the basket. If the quantity field is empty, the default quantity is 1.
