Trends
It is possible to use trends to take seasonal behavior into account in the data analysis when generating the item recommendations. This can either be done using separate periods or accumulated periods.
-
Adjust with trends: This setting is used to include trends in the data analysis.
- Days in each period: This setting is used to define the number of days to use in each trend period. Please note that three periods plus a reference period are always used for the data analysis. This field is mandatory if setting “Adjust with trends” is enabled.
- Separate periods: If this setting
is enabled, separate periods are used. Otherwise accumulated periods are used.
If separate periods are used, only information from the specific period is used to calculate the trend for that period. If accumulated periods are used, the information is accumulated backwards in time over the periods in order to calculate the trend for a smoother curve. This means that trend period 1 (which is the most recent) includes data from trend period 1, while trend period 2 includes data from trend period 1 and 2 and so forth.
