Kanban parts

The signal process must be set up for each part before using Kanban signals. A Kanban part is based on the customer's demand key definition (as defined in the customer characteristics by the owner). Based on the demand key, the part is defined by the part number and optionally PO number, model year, and engineering level.

The part records contain pull signal and Kanban information to control the pull signal process for that part. The records can be set up by publishing Kanban files, or manually through the application. To set up a Kanban part manually, the part must already exist in the system. Manually deleting a Kanban part removes the existing pull signals and demand for the part.

From the Kanban Define Parts option, you can filter to view a part list. From the resulting part list you can add, modify, or delete Kanban parts.
