Authorized excess transportation cost

When a shipper is generated and the freight costs exceed the contract terms, you can raise the Authorized Excess Transportation Cost (AETC) request and send to the customer for approval by specifying a valid reason.

The AETC functionality enables you to track the status of the AETC request that is submitted. You can view the status of the requests using the AETC Shipping Requests page that can be accessed from the Shipments menu. You can also update or cancel the request using the Request Details page.

Note: You cannot publish the shipper until the excess cost is approved and the customer assigns an AETC number to the shipment.

The AETC functionality is integrated with the application. You can configure the AETC alerts on the Alert Configuration page to receive the notifications. You can also select the AETC events, on the EMC Configuration page, that must be displayed on the Event Management Console.
