Adding characteristic sets

Before you can add a customer company to Supplier Exchange, you must first create the customer's default characteristic set. Other characteristic sets can be created to be applied to the customer's individual facilities.

Optionally, you can also attach flex fields to the characteristic set. The flex fields define application fields specific to the customer or facility.

To add a characteristic set:

  1. Select Setup > Characteristic Set.
  2. At the bottom of the page, click Add.
  3. Fill out the Characteristic Set.
  4. Click Save.
  5. On the Defined Characteristic Sets page, next to the characteristic set to which flex fields are to be added, in the Flex Field column click Edit.
  6. In the Flex Field search criteria table, select the document type for which the flex field is to be added.
  7. Click Search. The existing flex fields for the selected document type display.
  8. At the bottom of the Flex Field table, click Add.
  9. Fill out the Flex Field Definition table.
  10. Click Save.
