Production part approval process

The Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) helps a customer collect and maintain data related to the testing performed for the supplied production parts, before they are used in manufacturing. When a supplier sends a sample part for approval, the customer can use the PPAP to evaluate the quality of the received part, and set the sample status as Full Approval, Provisional Approval, or Rejected.

The PPAP rating is calculated as:

(Samples with the status Full or Provisional Approval) / (The
	   total number of submitted samples in a given time period) 
    

The supplier is given a high rating if the sample part supplied for the first time is up to the required specifications. The customer can manually specify the PPAP information in the application or can send (import) the PPAP files.

The PPAP is fully integrated in the application. Customers can select to receive PPAP alerts and to view PPAP events on the Event Management console. PPAP is included in the Metric module and can optionally be included in metric performance evaluations.
