Shipment Tracking
Global Track and Trace (GTT) helps in tracking the Long-Distance Shipments from the supplier's Ship From location to the Ship To location through the significant checkpoints.
The Shipment Tracking console displays the shipment status and the estimated delivery dates for Long-Distance Shipments. You can view the specific shipment details to verify the checkpoints and the arrival dates. The estimated and the actual arrival dates for these checkpoints are received from shipment managers which helps determine an estimated delivery date of the shipment, at the Ship To location. This estimated delivery date can be utilized to forecast the inventory levels and plan the production.
To use the Inventory Projection console, the Part Inventory, and Part Consumption APIs must be sent regularly to the suppliers.
To update the GTT data, shipment managers can update the shipment status manually or send (import) the Shipment Status API.
