Creating Request for Quotation

Use the Create RFQ page to create the Request for Quotation. You can specify the RFQ details such as the Facility, Ship To, Suppliers, and RFQ line details.

  1. Select RFQ > Create RFQ. The Create RFQ page is displayed.
  2. Specify this information in the Header Details section:
    Facility
    The name of the location from where the RFQ is sent.
    Ship To
    The name of the location at which the parts are received.
    Create Date (yyyy-MM-dd)
    The date on which the RFQ is created.
    Type
    The type of bidding for the RFQ. Possible values:
    • Traditional: This is a generic RFQ for which the suppliers can submit the RFQ responses until the expiry date. 
    • Reverse: The application indicates the lowest bid of all the bids received for the RFQ line. The bids received are updated in the integrated ERP application simultaneously.
    • Sealed: The negotiation with the supplier is not possible as the bids submitted by the suppliers are updated in the ERP and evaluated only after the expiry date specified for the RFQ.
    Note: A unique RFQ number is generated after the RFQ details are saved on this field.
    Expiry Date (yyyy-MM-dd)
    The date up to which the response to the RFQ line is considered for evaluation.
    Expiry Time
    The time up to which the response to the RFQ line is considered for evaluation.
  3. Specify the Currency used to express amounts related to the RFQ in the Additional Info section.
  4. Select to Add Suppliers. The supplier details specifying the Supplier ID, Supplier Name, lines and Currency are displayed.
  5. Click in the Lines section, the Line Details section is displayed.
  6. Specify this information:
    Line Number
    The RFQ line number.
    Part
    The code and description of the part associated with the RFQ.
    Quantity
    The quantity of the part for which the RFQ is sent.
    Target Price
    The expected price per unit of measure of the part.
    Note: This field is displayed only if the Show Target Price to Supplier check box is selected on the Customer Profile page.
    MPN (Manufacturer Part Number)
    The manufacturer-defined code of the part.
    Note: This field is displayed only if the Enable MPN Functionality check box is selected on the Customer Profile page.
    Required date
    The date on which the part is required by the customer.
    Outcome
    The expected outcome for the RFQ line. Possible values:
    • Purchase Order
    • Purchase Agreement
    Note: 
    • This field is displayed only if the Enable Expected Outcome Functionality check box is selected on the Customer Profile page.
    • The values that are available for this field are displayed based on the check boxes you select for the Outcomes field on the Customer Profile page.
  7. Select the Part Lookup option to search for the required part.
  8. Click Search to view the list of parts.
  9. Click Save. The RFQ line is added.
    Note: You can edit the RFQ line details. Click Edit.
  10. Click Save or Publish.
    Note: You can also use this page to:
    • Copy the RFQ line. Select the check box corresponding to the RFQ line number and click the
    • Delete the RFQ line. Select the check box corresponding to the RFQ line number and click Delete.
    • Map the suppliers to the RFQ line on the Line Supplier Mapping page that is displayed when you click Map Suppliers.
