Premium freight

The Premium Freight functionality can be used to initiate, track and analyze the expedited Shipments against which the supplier can ship the part. The customized Supplier Exchange reports can be used to view the premium freight trends and costs and generate the PDF reports.

Carrier and reason codes must be defined before using the premium freight module. This information is used when creating an authorization for an expedited shipment.

To create a Premium Freight:

  1. Create a premium freight authorization, with the details about the authorized shipment. The authorization status is set to Open.
  2. Publish the authorization. The status of the authorization is set to Published. The supplier can view the published authorization and ship the parts based on the requirement. An Advance Ship Notice (ASN) is sent for the shipped parts.
  3. Update the authorization with the actual transportation cost, after receiving the ASN and the shipment.
  4. Close the authorization to lock it. The authorization status is set to Closed.
  5. View the cost and trend analysis reports after the Premium Freight data is created in Supplier Exchange.
