Container characteristics

This section on the Characteristics Set page explains the container characteristics.

Definition

Indicate the container type for which the supplier must provide information. Possible values:

• None: The container information is not included on the shippers.
• Detail: The detail container (the individual containers included in a larger box or pallet and loose containers) information is included on the shipper.
  Note:  Each detail container can contain parts from only a single line item on the shipper.
• Both: The master and detail container information is included on the shipper.
  Note:  The master containers can contain detail containers containing parts from multiple line items only if the Allow Mixed Containers check box is selected.

Serial Numbers on Ship Notice

Indicate the container type for which the supplier must provide serial numbers. Possible values::

• None: The serial numbers are not required.
• Detail: Only the serial numbers of the detail containers are included on the shipper.
• Both: The serial numbers for the master and detail containers are included on the shipper.

Note:  These options are displayed only if the value in the container Definition field is set to Detail or Both.

Use InterForm Bar Code Labels

If this check box is selected, the InterForm format bar code labels are used for the shipments.

Allow Mixed Containers

If this check box is selected, the shipment with mixed containers are accepted. Mixed containers contain parts from multiple line items on the shipper.

Note:  This field is enabled only if the value in the container Definition field is set to Detail or Both.

Override Container Definition on Shipper

If this check box is selected, the container definition can be modified on the shipper.
