Creating a Supplier Managed Inventory part

Use this page to create the Supplier Managed Inventory (SMI) part.

  1. Select Demand > Supplier Managed Inventory > Edit SMI Part.
  2. Specify the search criteria.
  3. Click Continue. The SMI Part Setup List page is displayed.
  4. Click Add in the Part List section. The SMI Part Information page is displayed.
  5. Specify this information:
    Facility
    The name of the location from where the demand for the parts is raised.
    Ship To
    The location at which the parts are received.
    Supplier
    The name of the supplier responsible for supplying the part.
    List parts for
    The option based on which the parts are displayed in the Part field. Possible values:
    • Currently Selected Supplier
    • Buyer
    Part
    The code of the part. This value is defaulted from the Part Number field on the Part Information page.
    Model Year
    The code of the part that indicates the year when the part is used.
    Purchase Order Number
    The purchase order number associated with the Part.
    Engineering Level
    The code that indicates the required version of the part.
    Planner
    The name of the customer user (planner) responsible for maintaining the part inventory.
    SMI Minimum
    The lowest quantity of the Part permissible in the inventory.
    SMI Maximum
    The highest quantity of the Part permissible in the inventory.
    Average Daily Release (ADR)
    The average quantity of the part required through releases each day.
    Average Daily Usage (ADU)
    The average quantity of the part consumed during manufacturing each day.
    In Transit Days
    The number of days required for the shipment to reach the ship to location. If not specified, this field is set to zero.
    Type
    The type of the part. Possible values:
    • Production
    • Service
    Status
    The status of the part. Possible values:
    • Consignment: Indicates that the part is processed and returned.
    • Build-out: Indicates the model year build out. The part run is set to expire soon.
    Production on Saturday
    Indicates whether the SMI part is used on Saturday.
    Production on Sunday
    Indicates whether the SMI part is used on Sunday.
  6. Click Submit.
