Location dependency

A dependent location is a location which is hierarchically or parallelly related to another location.

These are three types of location dependencies:
  • Parent
  • Child
  • Sibling

The parent is the main location, and the child is the sub location of the parent location. A parent location can include multiple children locations.

You can use parent-child relationship to block a group of locations or to divide a location into smaller locations.

If you book a function using a parent location, all children within the parent location are blocked for the duration of the booking. If you book a function using a child location, the parent location is blocked while the remaining children locations can be booked. This restricts double booking of the parent location while one of the dependents is in use.

A sibling location is a location linked with one or more locations. A sibling location is independent of a parent location.

You can use sibling relationships to book a location and block the remaining locations.

If you book a function using a sibling location, the related sibling location is blocked.

Note: An error message is displayed when you attempt to book a function using a blocked location.
