Infrastructure
ISC is partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to host the software solution. AWS provides redundancy and scalability at every level of the ISC infrastructure. The AWS Internet Gateway is horizontally scaled, redundant, and highly available. Redundant DNS and load balancers ensure that user requests are directed to available application servers.
A cluster of application servers is deployed over multiple physically located data centers. As demand increases, the cluster automatically adds servers as demand increases to provide a consistent user experience.
ISC uses dedicated, private, redundant database servers with encrypted storage and encrypted rolling backup archives. Communication between application servers and database servers is private, exclusive, and is secured behind firewalls.
The event of a catastrophic disaster situation if the AWS data centers become unavailable, ISC has a catastrophic disaster recovery plan which allows the product to be recovered without data loss, at a new location.
System security is established in the architecture, software development practices, frequently applied patches to software dependencies, and in security scans provided by AWS Inspector. ISC is monitored constantly and alerts are delivered to support personnel for any metrics that exceed limits. System engineers are available round the clock to investigate and respond to infrastructure concerns. Customers are responsible for partnering with Internet Service Providers to ensure sufficient bandwidth and access to ISC to meet the requirement.
