Preserve enabled and Cycle overrides on Load Template

Enabled flags for Hierarchies, Macros, Plan sheets and Worksheets are now preserved when loading a template, by default. Some Cycle properties are now preserved when loading a template, by default. Overrides to these properties within standard configuration entities are preserved when content is upgraded, improving general extensibility.

The Load Template screen is updated with two additional switches:

  • Reset Enabled
  • Reset Cycles

This feature makes it possible to disable the noted standard configuration entities and have this preserved when loading new versions of the content. Also, if only minor changes to the standard cycle configuration are needed then this can be used, with any customer-specific overrides preserved in future. This removes the requirement for duplicate related system macros for a customized cycle.

These cycle properties are preserved when Reset Cycles is set to Off (False):

  • Base Currency
  • Calendar: History Horizon and Future Horizon
  • Cycle Process: Next period
  • Archive Settings: Number of periods to retain
  • Planning Hierarchy
    • Item Hierarchy and Item Hierarchy level for storing Scenario Values
    • Finance Hierarchy
    • Demand Hierarchy
    • Supply Hierarchy
    • Integrated Hierarchy
  • Generate Scenario History switches.

Reset switches must be used to reset implementation changes that not required; or migrate customer-specific changes between environments (instance or tenant). This feature applies the values held within the template to the current instance.
