Planning Engine definition

Planning Engine definition can be accessed from Configuration > Planning Engines > Planning Engine Definitions.

Define the supply chain model to optimize: Class Model text, Optimizations (solvers), Workflows, Variables and Queries.

Note: The planning engine definition does not include interface services (integration kit) or plan sheets. These are defined separately and linked to a Planning Engine.

Model Management

Model management can be accessed from Process > Planning Engines.

Define and review Planning Engine instances – versions of the plan.

General options:

  • Select a PE instance and Copy: Create a new PE instance from another plan. The local PE definition, plan data and horizon are considered. For example, as alternative scenario, or sandbox plan. Copy is independent and not linked to the original PE instance.
  • Select a PE instance and Delete.
  • Restore Planning Engine: Restore a previously downloaded planning engine - plan data and local Planning Engine definition, from the PE instance.
  • Execute Macro in 'system’ context, for example, Master Macro to create new planning engine and populate it, using application variables to define the PE instance.
