Use type-ahead for data context selectors

You can use the type-ahead option for the item, location, and period data context selectors, for the retrieval of the data. When you specify two characters in the dialog box, a list of elements which contain three or more consecutive characters is displayed.

Example 1: The display preference for the location is (Name) Description. If you specify InG, a list containing values such as Birmingham (BHX Branch) and Nottingham (Notts Branch) is displayed.

Example 2: The display preference for the location is Description. If you specify BHX, a list containing the value BHX is displayed.

Example 3: For a period selector, the auto complete search is based on the period labels. You specify m02, a list containing the value FY10 M02 Feb and FY11 M02 Feb is displayed.

Note: The auto complete search for the name or description is based on the Display Preferences in Settings.
