Calendar

Forecast Consumption is designed to work with SCP Demand (+) and uses the calendar from the latest demand plan published to SCV. This allows the forecast numbers to be imported in the periodicity in which the forecast is stored in SCV.

Main Calendar

The Demand Plan used with Forecast Consumption is controlled by these Application Variables:
Variable Name Variable Description Default Value
scv_fcst_consump_plan_category_to_load The Plan Category to load. The value must be set to Sales. However, this is added as an App Var for completeness. Sales
scv_fcst_consump_plan_name_to_load The Plan Name to load. This is the Cycle Name from the Demand Planning Cycle that published the forecast. Demand (PW)
scv_fcst_consump_plan_type_to_load The Plan Type. This is the ‘Statistical Forecast’, which is the standard Plan Type that Demand Planning publishes. Statistical Forecast
scv_fcst_consump_calendar_days The Forecast Consumption Horizon in days. On import of the calendar into Forecast Consumption, make sure that sufficient timeline is available to cover the number of days. 95

History Buckets

Forecast Consumption identifies history buckets by looking for Closed Sales Orders in the SC_SALES_HIST_TRX SCV table. Any period in the Main Calendar that contains at least one closed sales order is marked as a history bucket.

Group Level

Forecast Consumption uses the Calendar Group Level as an aggregation level to consume the forecast. For example, the Main Calendar can be in weeks, and the Group Level can be months. That means the Engine logic consumes orders and forecast across the weeks in each month.
Variable Name Variable Description Default Value
fcst_consump_reset_period_level Depending on the level of Published Forecast loaded, this application variable controls the number of levels above the base forecast level, that are used to balance the forecast across. If the base periods for the forecast are weeks, a value of 1 result in months. If the base periods of forecast are PartWeeks, a value of 2 result in months. 1
