You can add default planning scenarios to a cycle.

To define default planning scenarios:

  1. Select Configuration > Cycles > Cycles.
  2. Click New and specify the required information in the cycle details pane. See, Defining cycles.
  3. Click Submit.
  4. Click Edit in the details pane.
  5. Click New on the Scenarios tab.
  6. In the Scenario Definition window, specify the information for the default planning scenarios to be used in the cycle:
    Scenario Name
The name of the planning scenario, which must be unique for the selected module.
    Display Name
Specify the name to be displayed in the application. This is an optional field.
    Module
The module in which the planning scenario is used.
    Users

The users authorized to access the scenario.

    Roles

The roles authorized to access the scenario.

    Automatically Edit

If this check box is selected, the scenario is automatically set to the edit mode.

Share with Default Users and Roles
If this check box is selected, the scenario is shared with all users authorized to access to the same.
Note: This check box is enabled, only if the Automatically Edit check box is selected.
    Share Users
Select the list of users with whom the scenario is automatically shared when created.
    Share Roles
Select the list of roles the scenario is automatically shared when created.
    Initialization Macro
Select a scenario initialization macro, which is required to initialize the data in the newly created scenario.
Note: A macro contains a set of predefined commands to automate tasks that are otherwise executed manually. This is used to detail the method for populating the scenario, at the start of the cycle period. For example, you can insert data from the last period's published scenario to the current scenario, or you can run an interface service to load data from an external system. See, Creating macros.
    Linked to Scenario
Optionally, select a planning scenario to which the current scenario is linked. For example, you can link a Demand scenario to a Finance scenario, this enables you to identify the financial targets on which the Demand scenario is based.
    Scenario Process
Select a scenario process to execute the steps required to complete the scenario. A list of scenario processes is available for the each module. See, Creating scenario processes.
