Applying profiles to a worksheet
You can apply profiles to an embedded worksheet. This enables you to edit scenario values based on the profile sequence.
To apply a profile:
- Access an embedded worksheet from a cycle or the cycle and module. For example, Demand Planning (M) > Demand+ > 5. Forecast Collaboration.
-
In the worksheet, right-click a cell. The
Apply Profile option is
displayed, if:
- The current scenario can be edited and shared with the current user or the assigned role.
- The user's role is assigned permissions to apply profiles in the current module.
- One or more profiles exist with a tag enabled for the current cycle.
- The user or the user's role is authorized to access at least one of the profiles.
- Click Apply Profile.
-
In the
Apply Profile window, specify this information:
- Profile
- Select a profile that the user or role is authorized to
access for the current cycle.
Note: To enable the Uplift, or Downturn, or both fields, a profile must be selected. A column chart of the selected profile, in the Apply Profile window, is displayed.
- Start Period
- Indicates the period from when the profile must be applied. The value is defaulted based on the period specified for the cell.
- Uplift
- Specify the total uplift (increase in the value) that must
be applied. This value is distributed equally (proportioned) across all
positive data points in the profile.
Note: This option is enabled, only if the selected profile includes data points with positive values.
- Downturn
- The total downturn (decrease in the value) that must be
applied. This value is distributed equally across all negative data points in
the profile.
Note: This option is enabled, only if the selected profile includes data points with negative values.
- Net
- Indicates the net change applied. The calculation: Uplift - Downturn.
Note: To enable the OK option, you must select a profile and specify a value in the Uplift or Downturn fields. -
Click
OK.
Conditions:
- The specified net update for the worksheet, based on the profile sequence, is applied to the selected item, location and measure, and other dimension elements. This is applicable from the selected Start Period for the next 'n' adjacent cells in the worksheet, based on the number of profile data points.
- This works on the basic principal of periods on columns and measures on rows (or within the slicer) of the worksheet, however it will always apply the values to the adjacent worksheet cells.
- Based on the direct user edits, the proportioned values are added to the worksheet cells and highlighted. When you use the Recalculate option these changes are spread using OLAP, for the current worksheet, based on the edit rules of the measure.
