Engine tab

The Engine tab displays the forecast level, Engine, and Engine outputs for the selected Planning Entity (PE) or Aggregate Planning Entity (APE). You can set the forecast level using the predefined values in the Forecast Level field. You can set a forecast engine for the selected forecast level using the Engine field. This field lists all engines where the calendar level matches the selected Forecast Level period type. For example, if the forecast level period type is set to Weeks, the list contains only engines configured with calendar level = Weeks.

When the forecast is calculated the output is displayed in the Outputs section of the Engine tab.

Note:
  • The algorithm utilized by the forecast engine determines the outputs that are displayed in the engine Output section.
  • The Outputs section only displays outputs that are not null.

You can enable the Do Not Auto Forecast switch to exclude a PE from the automatic generate forecast processes when using the Generate Forecast or Forecast From Date option from the System Settings screen. In such cases, forecasts can only be generated for these PEs manually.

You can use the Calculate option to generate forecasts for all levels in the current PE, using engines you select for each forecast level. After the calculation completes, the forecast panels display the newly calculated forecasts. The Engine tab is updated to display the engine output values.

You can click Save to store the updated forecast, the do not auto forecast option, and the selected engines for that the specific PE. The saved engines are used automatically each time a forecast is generated for the PE.
