Magnitude rule
The Magnitude creation rule compares two values, to ensure that these values are within an acceptable threshold. This rule can be configured to compare the following:
- The recent history values with the recent forecast values for a specified period.
- The same forecast type. This requires an offset to be defined for comparing against a historic version of the forecast.
Note: To prevent divide-by-zero errors, special rule is applied when zero values are involved.
- If both values to compare are zero, the result is set to 100%.
- If a non-zero value is divided by zero, the result is displayed as 0.
This information is displayed on the Rule Details screen when the value of the situation Type field is set to Magnitude:

- The description of the situation creation rule.

Note: You can specify a value between 1 and 100.

The first data series used in the Magnitude test for comparison. Possible values:
- Net Forecast
- Tactical Forecast
- Strategic Forecast

- Customer Forecast
- Sales History
- Future and history option for each defined data series
- Time selector

The period for which the values are to be summed and used in the Magnitude test. Possible values:
- Days
- Weeks
- Months
- Years
