Forecast engine logic when the Do Not Fit measure is mapped
You can use the measure mapped to the Do Not Fit parameter to exclude an item and location combination from processing on the Measure Mapping tab of the Forecast Engine or History Replacement Engine screen. If the Do Not Fit value is greater than zero for an item and location combination, the application does not pass the item and location combination to the engine. The application does not clear or override the existing output measure values for the item and location combination. For example:
Item “Car” at Location “North” contains three base elements: Item X, Item Y, and Item Z, with a total forecast of 120, and the Item Y has a Do Not Fit measure greater than 0.
When the Do Not Fit measure is mapped, the application retains the existing values for Item Y and does not generate a new output for Item Y.
The resulting forecast allocated to the base elements of “Car” is as follows:
- Item X forecast value =60
- Item Y forecast value =0
- Item Z forecast value =60
