Creating SCV properties from a data source

To create a SCV property from a data source:

  1. Select Configuration > SCV > Entities. The Entities screen is displayed.
  2. Click New. The Details tab is displayed.
  3. Click the Properties tab. The Properties tab is displayed.
  4. Click Load From Data Source. The Load From Data Source window is displayed.
  5. Specify this information:
    Data Source
    The data source of the Database type. You can select from a list of predefined data sources.
    Table
    The table name from the selected data source.
    Note: The list is displayed based on the selected Data Source type.
    Update Details with Table Name
    If this option is set to On, the Name and Description of the entity on the Details tab are overridden.
    Note: 
    • By default, the switch is set to Off.
    • This option is displayed only for new entities that are not saved.
    Update Mode
    The type of update to be performed. Possible values:
    • Append: Adds new properties from the selected source table to the existing property list.
    • Override: Overwrites all non-generated properties with properties from the selected source table.
  6. Click Load. The properties are loaded from the source table and added to the list.
    Note: If the property details of text properties are loaded from the data source that does not contain a length value (for example, column length), the default value for the Number of Characters entity property (that is 80) is considered.
