Process nodes with discrete constraints

The Process nodes with discrete constraints are identified based on the values of the batch size and minimum batch size adjusted properties of Processes class across all periods of the Planning Horizon.

A process node is highlighted as having a discrete constraint only if at least one period in the Planning Horizon has batch size greater than 0, or Minimum batch size adjusted greater than 0. In this case, an orange ‘exclamation’ mark is displayed on the Process node (collapsed or expanded), to indicate that one or both properties have values greater than 0.

Note: If you hover over a Process node, a tooltip is displayed, specifying which properties have values greater than zero. For example:
  • Batch size > 0
  • Min batch size adjusted > 0
  • These values indicate the presence of discrete constraints.

The legend displays the count of process nodes that contain the discrete constraint(s).

Note: Only periods within the Planning Horizon are considered when evaluating discrete constraints. The presence of these values does not guarantee their usage during optimization, as the solver behaviour depends on configuration parameters.
