General tab

Use the General tab to view and modify standard batch properties, such as status, quantity, resource assignments, scheduling dates, and process timing information.

These fields are available on the General tab:

Remarks

Additional comments or notes associated with the batch.

External code

An external identifier used to reference the batch in external systems.

Batch color

The color assigned to the batch for visual identification.

Batch status

The current processing or scheduling state of the batch.

Note: 

• The specified value must exist in the model.
• When the batch status is changed, the application applies the lock settings configured for the selected status. These settings include:
  • Drag lock
  • Quantity lock
  • Resource lock
  • Offset lock
  • Other status-controlled restrictions

Quantity

The planned production quantity for the batch.

Note: 

• This field is displayed only when the batch quantity equal to the registered inflow quantity.
• The value in this field can be modified when the planned quantity is not registered as Inflow.
• The value in this field cannot be modified when the Batch status field is set to Quantity Locked.
• You cannot increase the quantity beyond the current value. If a higher value is specified, the scheduling engine automatically reverts the value to the previous quantity.

Efficiency

The operating efficiency applied to the theoretical production rate.

Note: 

• For example, if the specified value is 1.0, the batch operates at 100% of the theoretical outflow rate.
• The value in this field cannot be modified once the End of Inflow time is registered.

Outflow rate

The rate at which material is produced or discharged from the batch.

Note: The value in this field cannot be modified once the End of Inflow time is registered.

Resource group

The group of resources eligible to process the batch.

Note: 

• The specified value must be compatible with the batch product step.
• The value in this field cannot be modified when only one resource group is available for the product step.
• Changing the resource group:
  • Deallocates the previous group
  • Allocates the selected group

Resource

The specific resource assigned to process the batch.

Note: 

• For combination groups, the application determines resource allocation and ignores manual selection.
• The value in this field cannot be modified when only one resource exists in the selected resource group.

Resource memo

Additional information or instructions associated with the assigned resource.

Note: The value in this field can be modified when a resource is assigned.

Due time

The latest permitted completion time for the batch.

Note: This field represents the required delivery deadline from the demand or order perspective.

Earliest due time

The earliest permissible scheduled time for the batch.

Release duration

The delay between batch completion and the availability of batch output.

Setup cost

The maximum setup cost associated with jobs related to the process batch.

Changeover cost

The maximum changeover cost associated with jobs related to the process batch.

Surplus quantity

The quantity produced by the batch that is not linked to a downstream batch or order.

Note: When surplus is not permitted, the displayed value is 0.00.

Th. outflow

The theoretical production rate defined by the process step and assigned resource.

Note: The value in this field cannot be changed when the Efficiency field is modified.

You can also view the Process Segments section on the General tab. You can use this section to view and manage the timing and duration information for a process segment within a batch. The fields define when setup, inflow, outflow, and changeover activities occur and specify the duration of each activity.

These fields are displayed in the Process Segments section:

Color/Texture

The colour and texture that are assigned to the process segment.

Note: The value in this field cannot be is modified.

Start Outflow

The date and time when outflow begin.

Note: The value in this field can be modified only when:

• No time is registered.
• No dependencies exist from other registered times.

End Outflow

The date and time when outflow ends.

Note: The value in this field can be modified only when:

• No time is registered.
• No dependencies exist from other registered times.

Start Setup

The date and time when setup begin before inflow starts.

Note: 

• When a value is specified, the inflow start time is calculated by adding the setup duration.
• The value in this field can be modified only when:
  • The Inflow flow rule is calculated.
  • A resource is assigned to the batch.

End Changeover

The date and time when the changeover activity ends after outflow is complete.

Note: 

• When a value is specified, the application calculates the outflow end time by subtracting the changeover duration.
• The value in this field can be modified only when:
  • The Outflow flow rule is calculated.
  • A resource is assigned to the batch.

Setup Duration

The setup duration in minutes.

Note: The value in this field can be modified only when:

• The User-Defined Setup option is enabled.
• A resource is assigned to the batch.

Changeover Duration

The changeover duration in minutes.

Note: The value in this field can be modified only when:

• The User-Defined Changeover option is enabled.
• A resource is assigned to the batch.

Inflow Duration

The inflow duration in whole minutes.

Note: 

• For rate-based batches, changing the duration adjusts the processing rate. For fixed-duration batches, the specified duration is applied directly.
• The value in this field can be modified only when:
  • The Inflow flow rule is calculated.
  • The Inflow start time and Inflow end time are not registered.

Outflow Duration

The outflow duration in minutes.

Note: 

• For rate-based batches, changing the duration adjusts the processing rate. For fixed-duration batches, the specified duration is applied directly.
• The value in this field can be modified only when:
  • The Outflow flow rule is calculated.
  • The Outflow start time and Outflow end time are not registered.

Offset Duration

The offset duration, in minutes, between the end of inflow and the start of outflow.

Note: The value in this field can be modified only when:

• The batch status does not have the Offset Locked option enabled.
• The batch method does not use quantity-based offset calculations.
