General tab

The General tab displays information about the selected Planning Entity (PE) or Aggregate Planning Entity (APE). This tab is displayed by default in the Information panel when you select a PE or APE on the SIP Workbench screen.
Note: The information on the General tab cannot be modified. The displayed values are updated when the simulation results are refreshed.

These sections are available on the General tab:

  • Forecast settings (PE only)
  • Summary
  • Distribution

Forecast settings

The Forecast settings section is displayed only for a PE and displays the default forecast configuration.

This information is displayed in the Forecast settings section:

  • Forecast level: The default forecast level, such as weekly or monthly.
  • Forecast engine: The default forecast engine used to generate the forecast.
  • Forecast Periods: The number of forecast periods, such as 52 weeks or 12 months.

Summary

The Summary section displays simulation output information for the selected PE or APE after a simulation is run.

This information is displayed in the Summary section:

  • Planned days cover: The number of days the planned inventory is expected to cover future demand.
  • Reorder point: The inventory level at which a new order must be placed to replenish stock.
  • Planned safety stock quantity: The quantity of safety stock planned to reduce the risk of stock outs.
  • Planned service level: The target service level for customer order fulfillment.
  • Inventory investment: The total financial value of the inventory held.

Distribution by parents/ children

The Distribution section displays distribution information based on the selected entity (PE or APE):

This information is displayed in the Distribution section for an APE:

  • Count: The number of child PEs under the APE.
  • Locked children: The number of locked child PEs under the APE.
  • Policy: The policies used by child PEs and number of children assigned to each policy.
  • Status: The status of the child PEs and number of children assigned to each status.

This information is displayed in the Distribution section for an PE:

  • Parents: The number of parent APE linked to the PE.
