Advanced search

Use the Advanced Search option to perform detailed searches on the indexed attributes, properties, and simulation outputs on the SIP Workbench screen. When you select this option in the Selection panel, the Advanced Search panel is displayed.

By default, an empty Attribute field is displayed when the Advanced Search panel is opened.

You can use the Search option to select an attribute in the Attribute field for performing an advanced search. The panel displays the appropriate search criteria based on the attribute type selected in the Attribute field. The Attribute field contains user-defined attributes, system-defined attributes, and simulation outputs. The attributes are displayed with the integration codes, for example, ABC Classification Manual (ABCCLSM).

The attribute types are:

  • Numerical
  • Textual

For numerical attributes, you can use these search criteria:

  • Range: To define a range of values. For example, 1 to 5. The range boundaries are inclusive. Therefore, a range of 1 to 5 returns values 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
  • Values: To specify conditions using operators, such as =, <, >, ≤, and ≥.

For textual attributes, a text field is displayed where you can specify a keyword.

Note: 

By default, the search is based on whole words. For example, searching for Tamarind in the Item Name (ITN) attribute returns Planning Entities (PEs) containing the Tamarind word.

The wildcard (*) can also be used to perform partial-text searches. For example, searching for *rind* returns PEs containing rind anywhere in the selected attribute, such as Tamarind.

Lucene search syntax applies to the searches.

The search results are displayed in the Selection panel after you specify the search criteria and click Apply.

You can add more search filters by selecting the Search option. Each search criterion specified in the Selection and Advanced Search panels is combined using the AND condition. For example, Status = Open from the Selection panel is combined with Item Name = Tamarind and Item Line Description = Caribbean from the Advanced Search panel using the AND condition.

The applied search filters are presented as tags in the Selection panel. You can remove an applied search tag, if required.

Note: The tag displays the applied search condition. For example:
  • 500 to 1000 for a range search
  • = 1000 for an equal-to condition
  • < 1000 for a less-than condition
  • > 1000 for a greater-than condition
  • ≤ 1000 for a less-than-or-equal-to condition
  • ≥ 1000 for a greater-than-or-equal-to condition
  • Tamarind for a text search

A search filter in the Advanced Search panel can be removed using the Delete option. The deleted attribute filter is removed when you click Apply.

Note: The Advanced Search panel retains the previously applied search criteria, which are displayed when you reopen the panel.
