Import and export of configuration entities

You can import and export supported configuration entities in the JSON format to transfer configurations between environments or to create backups of existing settings.

The Import and Export options are displayed on these screens:

  • Data Series
  • Forecast Engines
  • Situations

Exporting configuration entities

You can export one or more configuration entities, using the Export option. When you click Export, the Export Record(s) window displays the JSON representation of the selected configuration entities. You can copy the JSON data for use in another environment or for backup purposes.
Note: The Export option is displayed only if one or more records are selected.

Importing configuration entities

You can import configuration entities, using the Import option. When you click Import, the Import Record(s) window is displayed. You can specify or copy the JSON data in the Import Record(s) window. If required, you can click the Update Existing Records option to update the matching records during the import process. The imported data is validated based on the requirements of the selected configuration entity once you click Import.
Note: 
  • The Import option is displayed only if have the "Demand Forecasting - Import Configuration" or "Strategic Inventory Planning - Import Configuration permission".
  • By default, the Update Existing Records option is set to Off.
  • If the imported JSON is not valid, this message is displayed: 
    Failed to parse the imported data. Please check the format and try again.
  • When the Update Existing Records switch is On, existing records are updated and new records are inserted.
  • When the Update Existing Records switch is Off, existing records are skipped and only new records are inserted. This message is displayed indicating the duplicated records that were not imported: 
    Import Record(s)
