Macro execution panel

The Macro Execution panel provides visibility into macro activity by displaying execution status, detailed action logs, and a summary of recently executed macros. This helps users monitor execution progress, understand outcomes, and troubleshoot warnings or errors.

To access the execution the execution panel:

  • Open Planning Board.
  • Click the logs icon in the Information panel.
  • Hover over the icon. The Macro execution logs tooltip is displayed.
Note: The icon remains in the Pressed state while the panel is open and the execution logs are displayed:
  • When the Macro Execution panel opened, the Information panel expands to display the execution logs with these elements:
    • A headed with the Macro execution logs title.
    • A subtitle "Latest (past 24 hours)", indicating that the panel lists macros executed within the last 24 hours by any user on the model.
    • A list of execution cards, where each card represents a macro and displays this information:
      • Macro code
      • Execution timestamp
      • User who executed the macro
      • Execution state: Stopped, Success, Warning or Error
  • When a user selects a macro from the Process toolbar, the execution begins. See, Process tab.

    During execution:

    • All macro options in the Process toolbar are disabled and re-enabled only after execution completes.
    • The panel header updates to Running macro and displays the Stop macro option.
  • If the user clicks Stop macro during execution and confirms the action:
    • The macro is aborted.
    • The state updates to Stopped.
    • The severity updates to Info.
    • A message indicates that the macro is aborted by the user.
    • All actions that have not yet started are cancelled.
    • The abort event is recorded in the execution log.
  • After execution completes, the execution summary is updated with:
    • End time displaying the date and time the macro finished.
    • State, one of: Stopped, Success, Warning, or Error.
    • Severity:
      • Info when no warnings or errors occurred.
      • Warning when the macro completed with warnings.
      • Critical when the macro completed with errors.
    • Runtime is displayed in minutes and seconds.

  • Each macro action is displayed as a card, listed in execution order with the first action at the top. Each action card displays:

    • Action number and action name
    • State icon:
      • Green for success
      • Orange for warning
      • Red for error
    • Timestamp displaying when the action started and completed.
  • If an action is completed, a Show details option is available. Expanding the card displays all logged messages for that action.
  • If the number of action cards exceeds the available space, a scroll bar appears below the execution details section, allowing users to review all actions while keeping the execution summary visible.
