Adding a file data source to the model

Use the Data Sources tab to link a file-based data source (File, FTP, or S3) with a model, enabling the import and export of files between Production Scheduling and external storage locations. Each model can have only one associated data source, and a data source can be assigned to only one model.

To add a file data source to the model:

  1. Select Production schedule model name > Model Configuration. The Model Configuration screen is displayed.
  2. Select the Data Sources tab.
  3. Click Add. The Name field is displayed
  4. Select or specify the name of the data source.
    Note: This field displays only data sources of type File, FTP, or S3 that are not currently associated with another model.
  5. Click Save.
Note: 
  • Production Scheduling uses the data source name configured for the model. If the data source definition is modified in SCP, Production Scheduling does not automatically validate or update the association.
  • If a data source linked to a model is deleted in SCP, the association displayed until the screen is refreshed. After the refresh, the deleted data source is no longer displayed, and the Name field reverts to the Select name placeholder. You must select a new data source and save the changes.
  • If no valid data sources are available in SCP, the Name field is cleared. A data source must be created in SCP before a source can be associated with the model.
  • If multiple users attempt to update the data source association for the same model at the same time, the first saved change is applied. Other users must refresh the screen and select a data source again before saving.
  • If you modify the associated data source for a model, subsequent interface and macro executions automatically use the newly selected data source. No additional interface or macro updates are required.
