Strategic Inventory Planning Workbench
Use the SIP Workbench screen to review, modify, and analyze Strategic Inventory Planning (SIP) simulations for selected Planning Entities (PEs) and Aggregate Planning Entities (APEs). You can perform simulations, review simulation outputs, update entity statuses, and publish simulation results.
You can access the SIP Workbench screen from:
The SIP Workbench screen contains a toolbar and these main panels:
- Selection: This panel is located to the left of the Work Area panel and is collapsible. See Planning entity selection.
- Work area: This panel contains the simulation inputs panel and the simulation output grid.
- Information: This panel is located to the right of the Work Area panel and its collapsible. See Information panel.
The Work Area and Information panels display data based on the selected PE or APE.
Note: Data in the panels is displayed only after a PE or APE is selected.
You can use these options in the main toolbar:
- :To navigate through PEs.
- : To view the currently selected entity and related information.
- : To view or hide the simulation inputs panel.
- : To refresh the simulation and output panels.
- : To update the status of the selected PE or APE. Possible statuses:
- Open: Marks the selected PE or APE as Open.
- Approved: Marks the selected PE or APE as Approved.
- Published: Marks the selected PE or APE as Published and publishes the simulation outputs.
Any forecast errors identified for the PE are displayed in an information banner at the top of the SIP Workbench screen. Details of the errors can be viewed within the Engine tab in the Information panel. Simulation can be run, however the results are based on invalid forecast engine results.
