Planning horizon modification
You can compare and adjust planning horizons for two scenarios. This information is displayed on the Planning horizon modification window when you click the Edit planning horizon option:
- Selected periods: Displays the Overall Horizon across both scenarios (light grey), Common Periods if applicable (blue), and Selected Periods (purple).
Note: By default, the periods that are common to both scenarios are selected. If common periods do not exist, the planning horizon of each scenario is selected.
- Scenario 1 planning horizon: Displays the Overall horizon (light grey), the planning horizon of Scenario 1 (dark grey), and the selected planning horizon for Scenario 1 (purple).
Note: You can select a range of periods for comparison, using the From and To fields.
- Scenario 2 planning horizon: Displays the Overall horizon (light grey), the planning horizon of Scenario 2 (dark grey) and the selected planning horizon (purple) for Scenario 2.
Note: You can select a range of periods for comparison, using the From and To fields.
- Legends: Explains the color coding and visual elements used in the bars.
These messages are displayed based on the periodicity and overlap of the scenarios:
- If the periodicity of both scenarios is similar and the common periods does not exist:
There are no common periods for the selected scenarios
- If the periodicity of both scenarios is different (example weeks vs months):
Common periods are not highlighted when planning horizons have different periodicities
You can reset the periods of both scenarios using the Reset to Default option. This option is displayed only if you modify the default planning horizon. Upon selecting the periods for comparison, the application updates the comparison screen to reflect the newly selected planning horizon and the recalculated Key values and KPIs, when you click Apply.
