Batch Interactions
You can perform various actions for a batch such as selecting a batch, dragging and dropping, viewing batch alerts and batch network.
Selecting a batch
You can click on a batch to select the batch in the planning board.
To select multiple batches, you can:
- Hold the Shift key to select.
- Click a resource to select all the assigned batches.
- Click a time period on the Time axis to select all the batches within the time period.
You can use the Show network.
option to view the batches connected to the selected batch. See,Dragging and dropping a batch
You can drag and drop a process or tank batch horizontally for rescheduling or vertically for batch allocation. You must have the appropriate permission (Scheduler, Modeler, Power User) to drag and drop batch.
When dragging a batch vertically to move to a different resource:
- The Blue dashed borders highlight the valid destination resources.
- The Grey shading indicates invalid resources.
- The arrows are displayed only if valid resources exist above or below the current resource.
- Tooltips displayed below the batch when dragging upward, and above the batch when dragging downward.
A batch cannot be dragged and dropped when:
- A batch is locked. A lock icon is displayed in the tooltip when you hover the pointer on a batch.
- The model is locked by another user from the Production Scheduling client. The user must release the batch to reschedule the batch.
- The Published views cannot be modified.
If a batch is updated by two different users, the system considers only the latest updates. For the selected batch, the earliest start and latest end time is displayed, as a tool tip.
You must have the IBP_AS_Scheduler permission and access to the resource groups to drag and drop a batch vertically for resource allocation within the group. The batch can only be dragged within the resources belonging to the same group.
Viewing batch alerts
A batch alert is displayed in the Gantt chart view and in the batch list data grid when the batch is scheduled too early or too late.
A batch with an alert displays:
- A warning icon.
- An icon inside the batch that indicates if the batch is too early or too late.
- The Too Early text or Too Late text with the earliest or latest start date and time, in the tooltip.
A batch with an alert(s) is displayed with the border and label in red color. A batch can also have multiple alerts.
Viewing the inventory and utility information
You can select batches from the view to filter the inventory and the utility graphs, displaying only data related to the batch selection.
If you reset the batch selection, the filtering is removed, and the graph displays data for all batches in the view. If the selected batches are not related to the inventory product or utility in the list, the graph section displays the No data is related to your selection message.
