Overriding SCV mapping
You can override the mappings created with similar functionality at the element level. The Override tab is enabled only for the system defined SCV mapping.
To override a system defined SCV mapping:
- Select Configuration > SCV > Mappings. The list of mappings that are already defined is displayed.
- Double click the required SCV mapping from the list.
- Click Edit.
- Click the Table Mapping tab. This tab display information related to the Mapping between the Source and Target Table.
- Specify this information in the User Definition section:
- Source Type

The type of source object for overriding. Possible values:
- Table
- View
- Query
- Source Table

The name of the SCV table (defined in the Table Registry) from which the mapping is applied, based on the Source Type.
Note: This field is displayed only if the Source Object Type is set to Table.
- Source View

The name of the SCV view from which the mapping is applied.
Note: This field is displayed only if the Source Object Type is set as View.
- Source Query

The SQL query used to determine the source.
Note:
- You must verify the Query using the Verify option.
- This field is displayed only if the Source Object Type is set to View.
- Click the Overrides tab. This tab contains all override mappings at the element level with similar functionality.
- Click Add (+).
- Specify this information:
- Target Element

The target element to be mapped.
Note: The overridden fields are not available for selection.
- Description
- The description text for mapping element.
- Exclude
- If this check box is selected, the existing element mapping for the specified target element are excluded.
- Transformation Type

The transformation type to be mapped to the mapping. Possible values:
- CONSTANT
- DIRECT MAPPING
- KEYWORD
- EXPRESSION
- HASHKEY
Note: The default value is Direct Mapping. - Source Element

The source Table or View to be mapped.
Note: This field is displayed if the Transformation Type is set to Direct Mapping.
- Default Value

The target element with a default value when Source Element is not defined.
Note: This field is applicable only if Transformation Type is set to Direct Mapping.
- Keyword

The predefined keyword. Possible values:
- CURRENT_DATE
- CURRENT_TIME
Note: This field is applicable only if Transformation Type is set to Keyword. - SQL Expression

The SQL expression for retrieving source data.
Note: This field is displayed only when Transformation Type is set to Expression.
- Constant Value
-
The constant value applied to the target element.
Note: This field is applicable only if Transformation Type is set to Constant.
- Use these options as required, if the source has been overridden:
- Generates Compact Mapping: To create wild card (*) mapping in the Elements Mapping list which automatically maps all fields with the same name as Direct Mapping. This mapping does not include the attributes that has a explicit mapping.
- Generate Full Mapping: To create mapping list automatically based on the name matching as Direct Mapping.
- Click Effective Mapping. The list of all fields created by the mapping process is displayed.
- Click Save. The override details are saved.
Note: If the override mapping is identical to the actual mapping and you try to add or update the override mapping, this warning message is displayed:
Override mapping contains no changes, review your mapping.
