Regenerate Planning Entities

You can regenerate Planning Entities (PEs) using the Regenerate Planning Entities option from the ellipses icon. This option is used to maintain the accuracy of planning data after structural changes, which ensures that forecasts and planning activities are aligned with the current business definitions.

Regeneration of PEs clears all history and forecast data, loads all history, and creates any new PEs. You cannot access the Demand Forecasting workbench during the regeneration process. After the regenerate process has completed, you must click the Generate Forecast option from the ellipses icon.

Note: You must have the ‘Demand Forecasting - Regenerate Planning Entities (System Settings)’ permission to access the Regenerate Planning Entities option.

This warning message is displayed when you click Regenerate Planning Entities:

Regeneration of the Planning Entities will block access to Demand Forecasting while the sales history and system forecast is removed from all planning entities. A full history reload will then be triggered and any new planning entities will be created. Generate forecast will need to be run once the history load is completed.

The PEs are refreshed and regenerated when you click OK.
