Generate forecasts

You can generate forecasts for all Planning Entities (PEs) and update the Periods Used field value for the customer and freeze forecasts for base PE in the Generate Forecasts window. The forecasts are generated based on the options selected. This window is accessed using the Generate Forecasts option in the ellipsis menu.

Note: You must have the ''Demand Forecasting – Generate Forecasts'' permission to generate SCP Forecasts.

You can specify this information in the Generate Forecasts window:

Where customer forecast exists set customer forecast periods used to
If this option is selected, the Periods Used field value for the customer forecast is set to the number of periods selected, for all base PEs that have a customer forecast.
Note: 
  • By default, this switch is set to Off.
  • If this switch is set to On, this value is defaulted from the All Periods field on the Forecast Settings tab.
  • You cannot specify a value greater than the value specified in the All Periods field.
Set freeze forecast periods used to zero
Indicates if the Periods Used field value for Freeze Forecast level is set to zero for all base PEs that have a customer forecast. Possible values:
  • On
  • Off
Note: 
  • By default, this switch is set to Off.
  • This switch is available only if the Where customer forecast exists set customer forecast periods used to field is set to On.
Where no customer forecast exists set customer forecast periods used to zero
Indicates if the Periods Used field value of the customer forecast is set to zero for all base PEs that do not have a customer forecast. Possible values:
  • On
  • Off
Note: By default, this switch is set to Off.
Set freeze forecast periods used to

If this option is selected, the Periods Used field value for the freeze forecast level is set to the number periods selected for all base PEs that do not have a customer forecast.

Note: 
  • By default, this switch is set to Off.
  • This switch is available only if the Where no customer forecast exists set customer forecast periods used to zero field is set to On.
  • If this switch is set to On, the value is defaulted from the All Periods field for the freeze forecast level on the Forecast Settings tab. You cannot specify the value greater than the All Periods field value.
