General tab

The General tab displays forecast related information or the selected Planning Entity (PE) or Aggregate Planning Entity (APE) in the respective sections. This tab is displayed by default in the Information panel when you select a PE or APE. At the top of the tab, you can manually set an Introduction and Discontinuation date for the PE or APE through a date picker.
These are the available sections on the General tab:
  • Freeze
  • Customer
  • Tactical
  • Strategic
These fields are displayed in the Freeze, and Customer sections:
  • Periods Used: The PE specific periods used in the system forecast for that forecast level.
    Note: 
    • The value in this field can be modified.
    • If the value in this field is not specified, the system defined Periods Used value is displayed for the forecast level.
    • The specified Periods Used value must be less than or equal to All Periods value defined for the forecast level.
  • Periodicity: The periodicity of the forecast level.

These fields are displayed in the Tactical and Strategic sections:

  • Periods Used: The PE specific periods to be used in the system forecast.
    Note: 
    • The value in this field can be modified.
    • If the value in this field is not specified, the system defined Periods Used value is displayed for the forecast level.
    • The specified Periods Used value must be less than or equal to All Periods value defined for the forecast level.
  • Periodicity: The periodicity of the forecast level.
  • Engine: The name of the forecast engine.
  • Level: The current starting position for the average level of the forecast.
  • Growth: The forecast growth represented as follows:
    • Positive growth: A number indicated in green with an upward arrow.
    • Negative growth: A number indicated in red with a downward arrow.
  • Standard Deviation: The estimate of the average variability between the forecast and actual demand. This takes the value of the weighting used for the forecast. For example, if the weighting “Units” is considered and the standard deviation is 2, the value is displayed as 2 (Units).
  • Forecast Last Generated: The most recent date and time that the forecast was generated for the PE or APE.
Note: 
  • The Calculate option can be used to regenerate the forecast for all levels of the current PE, updating the system forecast based on the specified Periods Used.
  • The Save option can be used to save the specified Periods Used value for the current PE and the forecast level. The saved data can be used by the system whenever the forecast is generated for that specific PE.
  • When the Forecast from Date or Generate Forecast option in Systems Settings is used, the system forecast is generated based on the specified Periods Used for the PE and forecast level.
