Viewing Notes in an embedded worksheet
To view the Notes, select a standard worksheet for which the report source is Embedded, and report type is Note, in the respective module. A page is displayed which comprises of a with a summary section and two tabs; Details and Context.
This information is displayed in the Summary section:
- Note Summary
- Priority
- Note Type
- Date
Field Name | Description |

Priority | The priority set for the Note |
Date | The date on which the Note is created |
Note Type | The type of Note |
User | The user who creates the Note |
Included in Playbook | Indicates, if the note is included in the playbook |
Details | The details about the Note Note: A limited number of characters
are displayed. To view the full details, hover over the cell.

Field Name | Description |

Cycle | The cycle for which the Note is created. |
Cycle period | The cycle period (if applicable) for which the Note is created. |
Scenario | The scenario (if applicable) for which the Note is created. |
Module | The module for which the Note is created. |
Worksheet | The Worksheet for which the Note is created. |
Item | The item for which the Note is created. Note: This location can
be a parent or child of the selected location.

Location | The location at which the Note is created. Note: This location
can be a parent or child of the selected location.

Period | The period for which the Note is applicable. Note: This period
can be a parent or child of the selected period.

Measure | The measure for which the Note is created. |
You can also view the Note in a tabular format, using the
option available on the worksheet toolbar.The worksheet toolbar also contains these options:

You can use the Notes filter options (
and ) to determine, if the notes are worksheet context based and/or not based on a worksheet or context. By default, the option is set to On and the option is set to Off.Notes can be created from these sources:
- Type 1: Cycle Period Note (Cycle) – Other Category
- Type 2: Scenario Note (Cycle, Scenario) – Other Category
- Type 3: Worksheet Note (from worksheet toolbar) (Cycle, Scenario, Worksheet) – Worksheet Category
- Type 4: Worksheet Cell Note (Cycle, Scenario, Worksheet, Location, Item, Period, measure) – Worksheet Category
Multi-panel Worksheet
For a multi-panel worksheet which is accessed using the Detail option (where item, location, Period, measure passed), the Notes are displayed based on the filter options selected.
If the On and the notes parameter rv_restrict_notes is False or not specified.
option set toThese Note types are included:
- The Type 4 Notes that have Item, Period, Location, measure context
values:
- All the notes at and above the selected levels (up to top of the
hierarchy) and all children (to base of the hierarchy) below the selected position for
Item, Location, and Period.Note: If an Item, Location, Period is not passed, the application considers the relevant module item/location/period data context and returns all the parents, grandparents, children and grandchildren.
- The Notes can also be filtered based on the measure value if passed to the notes worksheet.
- The Notes must belong to the Cycle Period and Scenario defined in datacontext.
Note: Data security is not applicable when retrieving Notes at all the levels in the hierarchy. - All the notes at and above the selected levels (up to top of the
hierarchy) and all children (to base of the hierarchy) below the selected position for
Item, Location, and Period.

If both options are set to Off, no data is displayed.
Standalone Note worksheet
For a standalone Note worksheet with no passed parameters, the Notes are displayed based on the filter options selected.
